02/28/2011 – Charming production of Charlottes Web at The Hemmens Cultural Center on March 26
(Elgin, IL) Wilber is some pig. When this runt of the litter fears he may be turned into pork chops, his good friend, a little gray spider named Charlotte, has a plan. By spinning the words Some Pig in her web, Charlotte begins the miracle that ensures Wilburs safety on the farm. Wilber returns the favor by doing something that is most important to Charlotte. This beautiful tale about the true meaning of friendship is a delight for the whole family. For ages 5 and up. Performances Saturday, March 26 at 1:00 and 3:00pm. Charlottes Web, a play by Joseph Robinette with music by Jeffrey Lunden, is based on the classic childrens book by E.B. White. The production by Theatreworks USA, a professional acting troupe from New York, began its national tour in the fall of 1993 and has been one of their most popular shows. Featuring a cast of six, this hour-long production of Charlottes Web is a delight.
The Hemmens Cultural Center, 45 Symphony Way, is located at the corner of Symphony Way and North Grove Avenue in Elgin, IL, is easily accessible from I-90. Driving directions are available at www.hemmens.org. Parking is free.
