Fox River Trolley Museum

Welcome to the Fox River Trolley Museum! Here, you will enjoy a nostalgic trip back to an era when the electric trolley car was a vital part of American life. Experience the sights and sounds of this unique part of American history aboard a genuine old-time trolley car which takes you on a four mile round trip along the banks of the scenic Fox River. The museum operates a variety of antique trolleys; many from lines long vanished, over trolley tracks that once connected Carpentersville, Elgin, South Elgin, Saint Charles, Geneva, Batavia, Aurora, and Yorkville. Our Museum theme is Education Through Demonstration. You get to learn the history of trolleys by riding a trolley. Plus, this year the Museum has some exciting Special Events in store for our visitors. May sees Mothers Day with all Moms getting free rides and a free carnation. June sees Rails to Victory and Trolley Tours of Occupied France, Fathers Day where all Dads ride Free. July has Red White and Blue Value Day on Independence Day. August has South Elgin River Fest. October has Pumpkin Trolley, and Ghost Story Trolley. December is the famous Polar Express. Your visit to the Fox River Trolley Museum can be educational and fun for the entire family.
