Pink Heals Tour to Visit Gail Borden Library August 3
Saturday, Aug. 8, 2013
Gail Borden Public Library – No fires will need to be doused when a contingent of pink firetrucks visits both the Main Library and Rakow Branch Saturday. Instead, the trucks and other pink equipment will be parked in front of the library to raise awareness for cancer patients and their families. Cancer survivors, those undergoing treatment for cancer and family members of those affected by cancer will be able to sign one of the pink trucks, which are traveling throughout the Midwest this summer. The trucks will be on display at the Main Library, 270 N. Grove Ave., from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., then on display at the Rakow Branch, 2751 W. Bowes Road, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. The Pink Heals Tour was established by a group of firefighters in Arizona to raise awareness of cancer patients, particularly women. –
